Bennett Thrasher Adds Transfer Pricing Director

Bennett Thrasher PC, the 4th largest Atlanta-based accounting and audit firm, is pleased to announce Charles Edge has joined the firm as Director of Transfer Pricing

Transfer Pricing issues can no longer be ignored by any company engaging in cross border transactions with related parties both internationally and between states. Recent developments in the transfer pricing environment have increased the risk for any company choosing not to examine and document its transfer pricing policies.  Recently issued regulations and the recent economic downturn can provide an opportunity for companies to adjust existing policies to reflect market conditions and maximize tax efficiency.

Charles Edge leads Bennett Thrasher’s Transfer Pricing consulting practice. Edge has more than 25 years of experience providing international tax advice to foreign-owned companies and their shareholders/owners. His work includes structuring U.S. and foreign operations; developing, documenting and defending transfer pricing strategies and intercompany cost sharing arrangements; and developing expatriate tax policies and compliance programs. He has successfully defended numerous companies during IRS examinations of transfer pricing arrangements and has assisted many companies minimize tax costs through proactive transfer pricing analysis.

Edge began his career with Price Waterhouse LLP Atlanta, Georgia. After seven years in the international tax department he left to join Sema Group Plc, a British software and logistics company as Tax Director. He subsequently joined British Telecom as the Tax Director for their joint venture companies Syncordia Inc. and Concert Communications Inc.  Edge later returned to private practice in Atlanta specializing in transfer pricing and international tax for ten years before joining Fisher Connectors Inc., a multinational manufacturing and distribution company as Director of Finance and Tax. He graduated from the University of Alabama – Birmingham with a Bachelor of Accountancy and is a member of the Georgia Society of CPA’s, AICPA and the British American Business Group.

Bennett Thrasher Announces New Shareholders

Atlanta CPA Firm Bennett Thrasher announces the addition of Peter Stathopoulos and Jeffrey Eischeid as Shareholders.

Peter Stathopoulos is a new Shareholder leading the firm's State and Local Tax efforts.  Peter brings significant experience in the area of state and local taxation and economic development incentives.  Prior to joining the firm in October of 2008, he was a partner with a national law firm and practiced in the area of state and local tax controvery and litigation.  Prior to entering private law practice, Peter was a principal consultant in the multistate tax consulting practice of a Big Four accounting firm and was a tax policy attorney with the Georgia Department of Revenue and led the drafting of regulations for many of Georgia's current tax credits.

Peter earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and his undergraduate degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University.

Jeffrey Eischeid is a new Shareholder in the firm's Personal Financial Services practice.  Jeff has extensive experience in advising closely held businesses, and the families that own them, regarding the complex tax and financial issues they face.  His major areas of expertise include income tax planning, estate tax planning and personal financial planning.  He has served clients in a wide variety of industries including real estate, construction, financial services, manufacturing, and wholesale/retail distribution.  Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher, Jeff worked in the tax department of a Big Four accounting firm where he was a partner for 15 years.  He served most recently as that firm's national partner-in-charge of its personal financial planning practice.

Jeff earned both his Masters of Accountancy and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia.  He is a Georgia CPA and has earned the AICPAs Personal Financial Specialist designation.
